Ab was a cell leader in the underground communist party in the early 1980's. The imprisonment and persecution he experienced for his political beliefs prepared him well for what he experienced when Christian radio ministry infiltrated his household and he became a believer in 1984. His faith has stood the test of time and he is now known across the country as the church leader of the North-East. He travels from town to city discipling believers. His wife and six adult children are also believers.

Travel in Morocco is expensive and is Ab's largest expense. He does not own a vehicle, so he uses public transportation. His visits to Al Hoceima have been crucial to the growth of the church.
